Oriental Spice Tea
In Indian culture, 'Masala' means 'a blend of spices', and 'chai' simply means 'tea.' So, the celebrated Masala Chai is literally 'spiced tea.' If you're new to spiced tea, our warm and approachable Oriental Spice is a great place to start. Tangy and bright Ceylon black tea is blended with cinnamon, cardamom, ginger and orange rinds. Fresh and herby-sweet aromas, spicy flavor balanced with citrusy tea, pleasantly dry finish.
From the hieroglyphics on the walls of the pyramids, to the scriptures of ancient religions, we find constant mention of the important part spices played in many cultures. Many of the spices, herbs and seeds we use today were first cultivated by the early peoples of the western world. In fact, our word 'aroma' was the ancient Greek word for 'spice.' Today, when spices cost so little, it is hard to imagine that once these fragrant bits were so costly, that men were willing to risk life and limb in search of them.
