Fall is on tap — or on ice, or brewing or steeping — at many restaurants and coffee and tea shops. From hot drinks to cold juices to elegant cocktails, menus are embracing the flavors, aromas and colors of the season in a glass.

Tea

Although it doesn’t sell drinks by the cup, you can stop in at Blue Monkey Teas in Squirrel Hill to pick up some loose-leaf tea to take home. A particular favorite in the fall is Pumpkin Cream Rooibos Tea, owner Margaret Harris said.

Teas are on the rise now because people find the taste and aroma comforting within the confines of their homes, she said.

Other fall teas available at Blue Monkey include apple cider, apple spice, pumpkin spice and pear cinnamon. Then there is Chestnut tea, which has natural sweetness to it. The shop also sells coffees, and a fall favorite is maple walnut coffee.

Customers can get packages shipped for $5. Customers who do stop by the store get personalized service these days so that they don’t open jars.

“We are like your butlers,” Ms. Harris joked.

Loose-leaf teas are $4.50 for 2 ounces (about 12 mugs). The teas also come in larger packages if preferred. pittsburghcuppa.com.
